HELLO!

My name is Sofie and I’m a freelance writer, aspiring journalist and all round crafty so and so.

I have recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Magazine Journalism at Cardiff University. My basic CV and cuttings can be found on this blog and anything more detailed can be sent directly to you if you so wish.

I’m the ex-music editor/columnist of Quench magazine at Cardiff University and long time lover of words. I have read a newspaper cover-to-cover(ish) every day since I became tall enough to reach up and pull it off our kitchen table. I am a keen advocate of social media and all the amazing interactive and powerful advances the internet offers but truly I am a sucker for print. Being able to hold something in my hands is still something I adore. Which you can tell by looking at my music collection.

I also run a magazine blog called Caked over at www.cakedmagazine.wordpress.com which specialises in outdoor action sports in the UK.

I am an enthusiastic package of writing, photography, hands on creativity and passion. I have great personal interest in sociology and anthropology, in which I earned a Bsc.(Econ), also at Cardiff University. Outside of this I love sports both doing (sailing, windsurfing, skiing, netball) and watching (rugby, football, athletics, extreme sports) as well being a self-confessed music geek. I also like comics quite a bit.
